Muga Rioja Reserva 2008 Tempranillo

Muga Rioja Reserva Unfiltered 2008 Tempranillo, $17.84-$27.99, 92 points, had a cloudy almost Shiraz purple color with a thin clear rim.
The aroma abounded with earth, sweet red cherry, and a floral component all of which carried over to the palate on a medium-plus body of smooth acidity and grainy tannin that complimented this wine; the powerful floral aroma translated onto the palate, but was low-keyed enough to allow the cherry flavor enough room to balance the overall profile.
Finished silky with just enough spice, length, and a hint of licorice, to seal the deal on this very nice wine.

  1. Love Rioja! If you see the Remelluri, don't hesitate to try it. It's about $30 but really good.
