Alderbrook Vineyards Russian River Sonoma County 2011 Pinot Noir

Alderbrook Vineyards Russian River Sonoma County 2011 Pinot Noir, $17.99-$29.99, 86 points, poured a cloudy garnet with a clear wine ring.
Funky smells greeted me upon opening with developing red cherry, clove, and plum notes.
The medium body carried fair acidity, mild tannin, and flavors fit to the aromas with a bit of toasty pomegranate. Subtle spritz, not as uncommon with Cali Pinot Noir as some would admit to, altered a rather smooth texture.
Finished fair on the trailing palate, a well integrated 14.2% alcohol, licorice, and hints of mild spice.
As Autumn and my seasonal Pinot Noir tasting accelerates, I must admit my disappointment with this one.
