Groth Napa Valley 2013 Chardonnay

Groth Napa Valley 2013 Chardonnay, $29.99-$31.99, 93 points, poured a light brass color trending gray at the glass shallows.
Depending on the wine's temperature, the aromatics varied from light floral to melon aromas with a touch of vanilla.
The wine's (cold) medium body was deceptively light textured with fair-plus acidity.
Flavors of tangerine, honeydew melon, a touch of toasty oak, and orange peel were light, crisp, balanced, and delicious. After warming somewhat, the true body weight came through.
Finished long on the trailing palate with spikes of ginger, limestone minerality, saltiness, and a well integrated 14.7% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with our breaded, spiced, and fried Halibut.
