Hahn Family Estates Central Coast 2013 Merlot

Hahn Family Estates Central Coast 2013 Merlot, $10.19-$14.99, 89 points, poured core black trending maroon to ruby red with a broad clear wine ring.
Aromatic with dominant cedar, violets, and chocolate notes with hints of red currant leading the way.
The juicy medium-plus body was loaded with black fruit, a hint of plum, and red licorice, but firm layered tannins (a touch astringent in the finish) and good acidity kept this red wine far from being a fruit-bomb.
Finished lively on hot spices, a warm 14.5% alcohol, and a slightly oaky trailing palate.
Paired perfectly with my baby-back-ribs smothered in BBQ sauce.
I've always loved this winery's offerings, but strangely I don't see much 'love' coming from other critics; keep in mind: In vino veritas.
