Clos du Bois Sonoma Reserve Alexander Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Clos du Bois Sonoma Reserve Alexander Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon,  $14.44-$19.99, 87 points, poured a deep ruby trending a black currant purple/red with a broad clear wine ring at the glass bowl showing moderate sheeting.
Upon opening, were profuse cedar with strong violet aromas, but the aromas swiftly settled-down with a somewhat shy black currant, cedar, plum, and fresh linen.
Nearly full-bodied with good acidity and slightly astringent tannin managed tart pomegranate, mulberry, anise, and plum flavors.
Finished long on hot spices, oak notes, chalky blackberry, and a typical 14.5% alcohol.
Paired okay with our brick-oven sausage and pepperoni pizza.

  1. Have to say, I have always had a soft spot for the Clos Du Bois Merlot. Never had their Cab.

    1. VG: I wonder if things have changed since Frank Woods passed away and Constellation Brands has bought Clos du Bois?
