Darioush Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

Darioush Napa Valley 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, $81.59-$95.99, 95 points, poured black up to the penumbra of the glass edge where blood red met the clear wine ring and the leggy glass bowl.
Soft lovely lavender aroma was accented by hints of cedar, warm loam, and sun-drenched blackberries.
Luscious mouth-feel bequeathed the palate with rich anise, blackberry liqueur, plum, dried herbs, and mushrooms.
Full-bodied with good acidity and layer upon layer of silky tannins amplified the palate with praise.
Finished long on the trailing palate, easy nuanced spices, cocoa notes, and a spot-on 14.8% alcohol.
Bordeaux-styled varietals were 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot.

Darioush of Napa Valley, why it's a "go to" winery.

  1. I have to go and do a tasting here...it is one winery people rave about and I've never actually tasted there.
