Ricardo Santos 2008 Mendoza 2008 Malbec, $14.99-$18.99, 88 points, poured an opaque purple/red which intruded the thin clear wine ring; the glass bowl was covered with thick legs.
Loamy smells were accented with peat and coffee notes.
Full-bodied with fair-plus acidity and soft round tannins managed well the flavors reflective of the aromas.
Finished long on the trailing palate, a hint of prune, perpetual pepper notes, and an appropriate 13.9% alcohol.
Paired fine with our pepperoni pizza.
