Bonny Doon Vineyard 2016 Vin Gris De Cigare Rosé

Bonny Doon Vineyard 2016 Vin Gris De Cigare Rosé, $8.49-$19.99, 88 points, poured a medium salmon color.
Smells of strawberry and watermelon were good.
The light-plus body with fair to good acidity managed hibiscus, strawberry, and watermelon flavors.
Finished fair on the trailing palate and a balanced 13% alcohol.
So why my impressions delivering only the boring details?
The 2016 Vin Gris De Cigare Rosé was a rather conventional and serviceable table-wine (paired perfectly with our Mexican cuisine) without flaw, but without the character that I was used to, a rather cut and dry Rosé blended from Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cinsault and Roussanne.
For less than $10, you'll not be disappointed.

  1. Quite a spread in price there. For under $10 I'd say it was a steal.
