Pircas Negras 2013 Barbera (Argentina)

Pircas Negras 2013 Barbera (Argentina), $5.94-$14.99, 86 points, poured core black grading to opaque ruby with a clear wine ring and a leggy glass bowl.
Early aromas were a bit funky, but after a few minutes of breathing the wine caught a second wind of pleasant nuanced loam, flowers, and olive smells.
Medium-bodied with fair acidity and soft adequate tannins managed rather nondescript flavors of licorice, plum, mushrooms, and oak.
Finished fair on the fading main body of flavors with easy spice notes and a well-balanced 13% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my Mexican cuisine.
