Vinchio-Vaglio Serra Le Tane Piemonte 2016 Barbera (DOC), $13.49-$14.99, 87 points, poured bright ruby red with a broad clear rim and leggy glass bowl.
Smells of soft floral red fruits and a hint of blueberry were excellent.
Medium-bodied with easy, but supportive acids and tannins which carried the aromas effectively onto the palate.
Finished well on ripe red cherry, easy pepper notes, and a most accommodating 12.5% alcohol.
Paired perfectly with my shepherd's pie.
I bought this wine at the Whole Foods of Bedford.
